From danger to love, connection to trust, colors have a secret language.  

Graphic artists, fashion and interior designers have all been harnessing the power of colors to make a statement, convey a message and even create trends. But colors are more than just a visual phenomenon - they have a profound effect on our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual being.

 

In fact, the use of color for health purposes dates back to ancient times. In Greece, Egypt, India, and China, people had an in-depth understanding of the power of color to treat ailments and promote healing. And while the use of color for healing fell out of favor for a time, it has since been rediscovered and embraced by modern science. Research has shown that the vibrations of colors can resonate with the glands in our bodies, and when applied correctly - through our sensory experiences - these hues can help with overall well-being in body and mind.

 

Perhaps most intriguingly, colors can provide us with a insights - a window into our own subconscious minds. By shedding light on some of the deepest parts of ourselves - our personalities, issues, aspirations, and needs - it reaches further into our minds and reveal hidden messages that we may not have been aware of.

This set of 2 books, Golden Moments of Gratitude and Discovering Gratitude in Hues, were produced to launch our community wide outreach to get more people to be aware of the connection between gratitude and happiness. The Happy, Healthy Huemans programme was launched in April 2025 in NTUC Health Care's active aging centres - and they are currently being rolled out to various estates to help support emotional wellness and mental health.

Colouring calms the mind and gratitude warms the heart and choosing happiness is an act of self-love. In these books, you're invited on a journey of colouring and gratitude reflections with simple colouring pages designed to help you focus on the positive moments in life that often go unnoticed. Find your tranquility and joy as you put some time to doing this everyday and make gratitude journaling a habit for a healthier life.
